Lucien Agoumé is set to leave Inter on loan in January and must now come to a decision between Olympique Marseille in Ligue 1 or Sevilla in La Liga.
Agoumé has been Inter’s 8th (!) choice midfielder this season, below even Stefano Sensi and Davy Klaassen, and now has offers from several clubs to depart on loan. According to transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, Sevilla first showed interest on December 28, 2023 by offering a loan deal with the option to buy.
A few days later, French outlet L’Equipe reported that Olympique Marseille had submitted an official loan offer with the option to buy. It has been said that Inter have accepted both offers and it is now down to the player to make a final choice. The midfielder’s agent was spotted at Inter headquarters recently, suggesting that a move is at the last stage.
Lucien Agoumé was signed by Inter from FC Sochaux-Montbéliard in 2019 for €4.5M, facing competition from Bayern Munich and FC Barcelona. Since then, the 21-year old has left on loan 3 times and after rejecting all offers made to him in the summer of 2023, remained at the club for the 2023-2024 season. Despite this, he has made 1 appearance this season: a 4-minute cameo off of the bench against Fiorentina in a 4-0 victory.
It seems Agoumé’s time with Inter could be over, after an underwhelming experience. Where would his best option be: Marseille or Sevilla?
Doesn’t Marseille also have Correa on loan. I’d give them Agoume for free, if we can make the Correa purchase option permanent!
I’m hoping the new wing-back Buchanan show us some talent Sunday against Verona, if he plays? Which he might get about 20 mins if he is lucky.
I have never heard about this player, but this is great info, thank you Thomas
