Simone Inzaghi has recently become the manager with the most wins after their first 300 Serie A matches in charge, ahead of names such as Massimiliano Allegri and Carlo Ancelotti.
What Inzaghi has been achieving with Inter has not gone unnoticed, so much so that the Inter manager has ended up on the list of Premier League giant Liverpool, according to Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport. With iconic manager Jürgen Klopp announcing his departure from Liverpool at the end of the 2023/2024 season, the club has begun to sound out the market for a successor and Inzaghi has been linked as a possibility.
Simone Inzaghi has been linked to several top European clubs with an impending manager-domino effect set to take place in the summer, but the manager is reportedly happy at Inter. The club is happy with Inzaghi and Inzaghi is happy at Inter, it does not seem like he is ready to change environments yet.
Gazzetta continues that there have not been many coaches at Inter who have managed to open a cycle of success and remain at the club for more than two seasons, but Inzaghi is set to do exactly this. The club is set to offer the 47-year-old a contract extension. With Inzaghi’s contract ending in 2025, the parties are expected to sit down at the end of the season and formally speak, so as not to distract anyone from the current historic season. The plan is to offer a renewal until 2026, potentially with the option to 2027, with a “significant” salary increase compared to his current €5.5M/yr.
