Inter’s first match of December comes against the reigning Serie A champions, Napoli, on Sunday, December 3.

The current Scudetto holders have experienced a difficult start to the 2023-2024 season, undergoing a managerial change over the summer and yet another managerial change during the November international break. The Partenopei find themselves in fourth place in Serie A, 8 points below Inter. Under new manager Walter Mazzarri, Napoli have beaten Atalanta in Serie A and more recently, lost to Real Madrid in the Champions League. Star forward Victor Osimhen has returned to form and has recorded 3 goals and 1 assist in his last 4 Serie A appearances, while Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has 4 goals and 3 assists already this season.

Napoli have had the upper-hand historically in this fixture, with 12 wins all time- Inter having only 10. Most recently, Napoli beat Inter 3-1 in the 2022-2023 season with two last-minute goals. On Sunday, Inter will look to continue their red-hot form and keep the pressure on Juventus by overcoming Napoli at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. If Inter want to reclaim their place at the top of the Serie A table, a win is a must- especially considering Juventus play Napoli in less than a week’s time on matchday 15.

According to SkySport Italy, Napoli is predicted to line up as follows: (4-3-3) Meret; Di Lorenzo, Rrahmani, Østigård, Natan; Angiussa, Lobotka, Zieliński; Politano, Osimhen, Kvaratskhelia. Jesper Lindstrøm, Mário Rui and Mathías Olivera are all ruled out due to injury.

According to SkySport Italy, Inter is predicted to line up as follows: (3-5-2) Sommer; Darmian, de Vrij, Acerbi; Dumfries, Barella, Çalhanoğlu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Thuram, Lautaro. Alessandro Bastoni and Benjamin Pavard have both been ruled out due to injury.

Napoli-Inter is set to kick off on Sunday, December 3 at 20:45 CET / 14:45 EST.
