Recently, Inter has had several key players out with minor injuries. Despite them being minor injuries, with the accumulation of two to three starters out, Inter has had to rotate the starting squad quite heavily for the past couple of matches.

But as of late, Simone Inzaghi has been handed a big boost ahead of Inter’s upcoming match against Genoa and with the second leg of the UEFA Champions League round of 16 clash against Atlético Madrid on the horizon, this could not have come at a better time.

During the first leg against Atléti, Marcus Thuram was substituted at halftime with a minor muscle strain. The France international has since missed matches against Lecce and Atalanta, both of which Inter won 4-0. On March 2, SkySport Italy reporter Matteo Barzaghi wrote that Marcus Thuram had returned to full group training and is expected to be available for selection against Genoa. However, the forward is predicted to start from the bench.

On March 3, Francesco Acerbi returned to group training and will also return against Genoa, starting from the bench. After exiting the match against Roma with a calf injury, Francesco Acerbi has not been available since mid-February. The Italian veteran is back and in group training as well.

As for Davide Frattesi, the Italian midfielder was also involved in group training on Sunday. After a quick appearance against Atalanta, being brought on, scoring Inter’s fourth goal and leaving with a minor injury, Frattesi’s condition was not as serious as feared and he will also be available to face Genoa.

In terms of Hakan Çalhanoğlu’s condition, the Turkish international has not yet returned to group training and is instead targeting Inter’s match against Bologna on March 9, ahead of the second leg against Atlético Madrid in Spain.

Regardless, three major contributors for Inter so far this season will be back and available for selection as Inter takes on Genoa on Monday, March 4.
