Brazil and Inter legend, Maicon Douglas, was caught by SkySport Italy as a spectator at a Euroleague basketball match just outside of Milan, in Assago.

This comes via Italian outlet, FCInterNews. When approached by Sky, the treble-winner with Inter was first asked about his relationship with the city of Milan. Maicon gave a heartfelt response, explaining, “Milan is my second home. My first is Brazil, but then comes this city. Everywhere I go, people stop me on the street, ask me for photos and thank me for what we did with Inter [in 2010]. This city will always remain in my heart.”

Next, Maicon was asked about the current Inter team and where he sees them in comparison to the 2010 treble-winning side. Maicon replied, “They’re doing well in the league and last year they reached the Champions League final when nobody believed in it. This season, they brought in Marcus Thuram, a player nobody expected to do this well! One thing about them today that reminds me of our 2010 squad is the fact that they have a great, strong defense- and then of course, up front there is Lautaro Martínez who is a great striker.”

The Brazillian ended by touching on still being in contact with those from the famous 2010 side, noting, “Of course, we have a group chat. After José Mourinho was let go by Roma, we had a group call. He did well in Rome, having won a European title! I’m sorry he left, he remains a great coach.”
