The latest boom surrounding Giuseppe Meazza officials is that the club would like a “high-level” forward added to the ranks for the upcoming season.

One of the biggest names to follow in the summer market, as identified by Italian outlet FCInterNews, is Bologna forward Joshua Zirkzee. The young Dutch forward, previously owned by Bayern Munich, has no interest in returning to Germany and it seems Bayern will not exercise their buy-back option- Zirkzee would like to remain in Italy or join a Premier League team.

From England, Arsenal and Manchester United have sent scouts to watch the 22-year-old, but nothing concrete has moved to date. The true interest lies in Italy. In terms of Serie A clubs, Napoli have sounded out Zirkzee as a potential heir to Victor Osimhen, who is another forward that will be at the centre of attention this summer. Geoffrey Moncada, Chief Scout at AC Milan, has also watched Zirkzee live several times.

Inter, in addition to sending scouts to monitor the forward several times, has asked for information on his situation and has a particularly strong relationship with Bologna due to negotiating deals for Giovanni Fabban and Marko Arnautović last summer. According to what FCInterNews has reported, Inter Sporting Director, Piero Ausilo, has specifically reached out to Bologna Technical Director and good friend, Giovanni Sartori, to keep him updated on any developments surrounding Zirkzee.

Inter also wants to keep themselves prepared in case of any market shocks. FCInterNews details that in the event of a €70M+ offer for Marcus Thuram, who was signed for free last summer, the club would sit down and consider things. To date, there is no interest or negotiations for the French international, but the club has a duty to be prepared. Joshua Zirkzee, among other options, is a very strong possibility.

Furthermore, Italian outlet SportMediaSet has mentioned Joshua Zirkzee as well and outlined that Bologna would start from a €40M valuation. This time, Stuttgart and Guinea forward, Serhou Guirassy, is included as a potential alternative option. The 28-year-old has a release clause of €17M but is also being followed heavily by AC Milan.

Guirassy has scored 21 goals and registered one assist in 19 Bundesliga appearances this season, as well as scoring two goals and providing one assist in two DFB-Pokal appearances.
