Valentín Carboni has been a talking point for a good part of the season, as his performances on loan from Inter to Monza have alerted not only fans of Inter but also clubs around Europe.

On Thursday, January 25, it was reported by Argentine outlet TyCSports that the Premier League’s West Ham United had made a bid of around €14M to sign the young starlet. Later, Italian site, TuttoMercatoWeb followed by reporting that Inter had rejected a bid from West Ham by Carboni. This information was not confirmed by TyC, who stated only that a bid had been made- no mention of rejection (although it’s assumed that Inter had not accepted).

Later in the day, Italian journalist Matteo Moretto, during a stream accompanied by Fabrizio Romano on Kick Streaming, explained that Inter had received a bid for Valentín Carboni from an unnamed English club. Moretto explained that the bid Inter had received was well over the rumoured €14M and was, in fact, actually around €20M. The journalist added that this was not the only bid Inter had received for the 18-year-old and that Italian clubs had also made their interest known with bids ranging from €10-15M.

It is important to note that Matteo Moretto stressed that Inter did not even “sit down” to negotiate over any of these rumoured offers for their teenage star. According to sources, Carboni is considered untouchable by Inter, with the club fully believing in his talent and that he can be a part of the squad for years to come.

In other news, fans have been increasingly supportive of the idea of recalling Carboni from his loan at Monza, considering the failure of Inter’s backup forwards Marko Arnautović and Alexis Sánchez to have an impact on goals this season. Monza President Adriano Galliani was caught by the media today, Friday, January 26. When asked about Carboni, Galliani was adamant about his stance, stating that “Carboni will absolutely stay at Monza for the remainder of the season”.
